Why Pay with Checks?

Because of the popularity of credit and debit cards, paying obligations through a check has become less frequently used. Writing a check can take longer than paying via cash or a credit card. You need to fill out the check to show the name of the payee, the amount to be paid both in words and in figures. And then you write down the date of effectively and affix your signature. Busy people try to avoid all this by using other payment procedures. Another perceived drawback is that when you run out of checks, you have to order checks and this can take some time.

For businesses, paying through a check is still the accepted method. There are benefits when you do this. A check contains all the information that you will need for back checking records. It is a legal document. Paying by check is safer as there is no need to carry large sums of cash. Another thing is that it does not have to be hand carried. Checks can be safely sent through the mail.
