website marketing

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

I have always been into internet surfing. Although I am far from being a techie, I spend a few hours a day surfing and studying the infinite possibilities of the internet. Being a marketing practitioner, I have wanted to try website marketing. I know a thing or two about website marketing. I know that having a website is not enough. The most important thing you have to do is to drive traffic towards your website.

If you’ve ever tried searching for a topic on the internet, you know that most of the time you just click on the topics and websites that appear on the first page. The challenge is how to get your website to land on the first page. This is where you need to do internet marketing. There are several ways to do internet marketing: there are advertisements in the form of banners in popular search engines and in very popular websites, there is also the use of search engine optimization or SEO. Another thing that you can do is create awareness for your website by using traditional marketing methods. Sometimes, the best way to market your non-traditional marketing effort is by using traditional efforts.

Fiber optic cabling

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Fiber optic lines are strands of optically pure glass that are as thin as human hair. They are arranged in bundles called optical cables. They carry light signals of digital information over long distances. Fiber optic cabling is used in telephone systems, cable TV systems and the Internet. It is also used in medical imaging and mechanical engineering inspection.

There are three main parts of a single optical fiber:

~Core -the thin glass center of the fiber where light travels
~Cladding – the optical material surrounding the core that reflects the light back into the core
~Buffer coating – the plastic coating that keeps the fiber away from damage and moisture

There are more business opportunities nowadays. In some jobs, you don’t have to stay in the office from nine to five. All you need is a connection and a computer and you now have a virtual office. Xerox printers

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Being in marketing, I cannot stress enough the importance of a brand. I have been in advertising for more than 15 years now and I have always been an advocate of brand building. A brand’s value is worth much more than the company’s profits. Each year magazines and other trade journals rank the most recognized brands around the world. One such brand is Xerox. The iconic X brand image is recognized and regarded by millions as the trusted name in photocopying machines. It has become so popular that photocopying machines are sometimes referred to as Xerox machines. With the advent of Xerox printers, the company hopes to ride on the popularity and reputation of Xerox photocopiers.

Just as Xerox copiers are reliable and trusted, they want their Xerox printers to be regarded as the same. The printer market however is totally different from the copier market. The big names in computer manufacturers and printers have been slugging it out for the past years with all their features and prices. But Xerox is ready; its printer line can compete side by side with the top [printer brands. With Xerox’s reputation as the top copier, their lines of printers with copiers could very well give the competition a run for their money. A printer that copies easily is a perk. It saves the employees time and energy from having to make photo copies of printed documents.

blank checks

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Most people nowadays, especially the entrepreneurs and those with so many transactions no longer use cash as payments. They usually issue blank checks to their payees which they find more convenient. Paying in a form of check makes it easier for the payer to easily monitor the flow of money in his bank. This is even hassle-free because there’s no more need for cash to cause bulkiness in the wallet and bag that most of the time causes worry to the owner.

A blank check is a kind of check signed by a payer with no particular amount indicated. The amount specified in the blank check depends on how much is needed for payment. Below are some of the common transactions made by blank check owners:

~ payment for insurance, health plans, funeral plans, etc…
~ payment to suppliers
~ payment for enrollment in school
~ loans payment
~ payment for monthly amortization

It will be easy to just list down ideas for home business because there are many. But right now I would like to present issues that confront a person thinking of starting a home based business. These are not really problems or pitfalls. These are things to think about before coming down with a list of home based business ideas. Think about these and see how it will fit into your plan.

Can you separate work from family life? Being close to the family can be an advantage as well as a disadvantage. Your working at home might eventually create a strain on your work and family relationship. Do you have enough space? If you don’t foresee a room for your own exclusive use, it will create a lack of privacy. You might also be forced to work too much and feel isolated in the process. Examine yourself and the business that you plan to do. Determine if your self discipline or self management is strong enough to make things work.

making money from home

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Moms who have little kids are better off taking care of her brood rather than leaving them with a nanny all day. If you are such a mom who can choose to stay at home rather than work in an 8-hour job, you are a blessed woman indeed!

Being home need not mean being without your own money to spend though. Know that making money from home is possible. In fact, many stay-at-home moms are already doing it. And they affirm that this setup is actually a way to get the best of both worlds.
