I currently work for a toy company. The company has been in the business for 18 years. We have over 50 outlets and one head office with 4 direct lines. There are over 40 employees working in the head office all sharing those 4 telephone lines; one of those lines is a fax phone as well. Can you imagine how difficult it is to use the phone? We have all 50 outlets trying to call us and we’re all trying to call each of them. We need to look at small business phone systems.
Small business phone systems are practical and a necessity. There are several types of business phone systems; the most popular is the PBX system. PBX stands for private branch exchange. This means you can have locals or extensions. If each of your employees are given a local line, the can call each other easily and even make outside calls. This definitely beats having to walk over to the other end of the hall. Today there is also VOIP or voice over internet protocol which makes calls using data lines instead of traditional phone lines. I would be happy if our company had PBX!
