I’m not much of a techie. And this was even revalidated when I applied for a phone for our modest farm in Nebraska. When I inquired about the installation fee, I was asked if I’m applying for an analog phone system or a digital phone system. I had to hang up as I was clueless to the questions thrown back at me. I asked a colleague in the IT department and he told me the difference between an analog and a digital phone system.
I now have an idea of the distinct advantage of analog versus digital phone system. Though digital provides more options on voice and data connections it is a bit pricey than analog. Also, analog provides a richer sound while digital has more clarity. Knowing about these facts made me settle for the analog phone system. We only need to simply communicate with the caretaker of our farm so I think an analog phone system will suffice.
