political campaign buttons

Politics has and always will be part of every country. For the past century, photos, slogans and names have been used as promotions for candidates and causes. Among these gimmicks are political campaign buttons that originated as far back as the time of George Washington.

It has been said that at his inauguration, Washington supporters wore brass clothing buttons that said “G.W.-Long Live the President”. Nowadays, words are accompanied by pictures when mounted on metal disks wrapped with celluloid protective coverings.
