direct response marketing

There are many ways of selling a product or service. Some are traditional; others developed with the emergence of new marketing tools. An example of this is direct response marketing. It is a marketing strategy that encourages a large audience to respond directly to an advertisement. This is facilitated through a telephone call, a business reply card or coupon. A common example is the use of infomercials to sell large numbers of a product.

In infomercials, the product benefits can be explained exhaustibly. The product itself can be viewed by the prospective buyers. Its advantages over competition are clearly presented. If it is a novel product it will clearly show. The market is as wide as the coverage of the TV show. It surely will have mass impact. Direct response marketing has a unique niche in modern marketing.
